Zionsville Community Schools

Updated Aug. 16, 2005

Information is based on 2004-05 school year, except as noted.

Enrollment: 4,453

Number of teachers: 242

Average teacher salary: $48,300

Average teacher age: 40

What's new

This year, ninth-graders entering will have a brand-new center just for them. Though attached to the main high school building, the Freshman Center is designed to give incoming students any extra help they might need to start their high school careers.

The district is opening Stonegate Elementary in a new building, as well as opening Zionsville West Middle School temporarily at the Boone Meadow facility. Also, work is beginning on the new high school athletic complex, Zionsville West Middle School and Union Elementary.

Other building changes include improvements at Pleasant View Upper Elementary. The reception area has been renovated, one of the school's two computer labs has been updated and newly equipped, and an outdoor learning and recess pavilion, adjacent to the playground, have been added.

Nearly 700 people now work for Zionsville Schools, a record for the district.
