What's new

Groundbreaking is Aug. 31 for the sixth elementary school, Cedar Elementary. Work also will begin on the high school expansion. Avon Intermediate School West opened with Scott Raftery as principal. Human resources director Margaret Hoernemann was promoted to assistant superintendent; White Oak Principal Maryanne McMahon was promoted to director of elementary education; and former Tech High School Principal Peggy Clark was named director of secondary education.
