What's new at Nineveh-Hensley-Jackson

Superintendent John M. Reed said the district is implementing an extended-day kindergarten pilot program to help selected students with prereading and premath skills.
Students picked for the program will stay in school for a whole day instead of the usual half-day. About 30 children will participate.
"We're packed," he said. "We've not been able to take everybody."
The district will provide bus rides to and from school for the students.
The district also has hired 10 new teachers, including Kevin Robertson, the high school's new band director.
