A$12 security surcharge has been added to the cost of new and renewed U.S. passports. The price of a 10-year passport for applicants 16 and older now is $97 (the regular $55 fee and $30 execution fee plus the $12 surcharge), while a five-year passport for those younger than 16 has climbed to $82.
