Mike Fender

Mike has worked at The Indianapolis Star, and formerly The Indianapolis News, since 1987. He has served as director of photography since 2001.

He previously worked for the San Bernardino Sun (Calif.), The Kettering- Oakwood Times (Ohio) and the Xenia Daily Gazette (Ohio).

Mike started in newspapers as a reporter but decided to concentrate on photojournalism because he loved the challenge of capturing a "moment in time." In addition to his work at The Star, Mike is also the official photographer for his church and his three kids.
