Partnership for Young Readers

For nearly 30 years The Indianapolis Star has provided materials and ideas for teachers who use newspapers as a teaching resource.

Newspaper in Education (NIE), an industry-wide program developed to put newspapers in the hands of students, has a positive impact on student learning. According to the Newspaper Association of America Foundation, students in schools with NIE programs did 10% better on standardized tests than schools of equivalent demographics without NIE programs.

Give your students the most up-to-date text available and help them track the issues in their ever-changing world.
